LIBOR Adds to its Suite of Safety Tools with the REALTOR® Safety Program

Jul 12, 2019

The Long Island Board of REALTORS® is committed to the safety of our members. Through LIBOR’s new REALTOR® Safety Program, members have the means of reporting local incidents that may be a critical safety concern for our REALTORS®.

This recently launched program is the local version of the National Association of REALTORS®’ (NAR) REALTOR® Safety Network, which will deploy REALTOR® Safety Alerts via social media when a physical or cyber threat to REALTORS® warrants national attention.

Alerts will be issued in situations when a REALTOR® or a REALTOR®’s immediate family member goes missing, an association name is being used fraudulently to dupe consumers, or a physical threat to REALTORS® is deemed to warrant national attention.

The goal of the REALTOR® Safety Program, aside from keeping practitioners informed of threats in your area, is to educate members about common dangers in the field, empower them with precautions and preparations so that they can avoid risky situations, and to be aware of their surroundings and identify the dangers that REALTORS® face every day. To review the program guidelines, visit: REALTOR® Safety.
