Long Island Board of REALTORS®’ Marlo Paventi Dilts Named Honoree of Long Island Business News’ 2021 40 Under 40 Award

Marlo Paventi Dilts, Senior Director of Public Policy and Government Affairs of Long Island Board of REALTORS® (LIBOR), has been named an honoree of the 2021 40 Under 40 Award by Long Island Business News (LIBN).

The 40 Under 40 Awards celebrates future leaders of Long Island who have already begun to distinguish themselves in business, government, education, and the not-for-profit sector. Honorees have a proven track record of career success, are involved in mentoring and promoting their profession and find time to give back to their communities.

Paventi Dilts joined LIBOR in February 2018 as the Government Affairs Director, since that time and as a testament to her outstanding work performance, she has been promoted to Senior Director of Public Policy and Government Affairs. In this role, Paventi Dilts is responsible for leading all public policy and advocacy efforts. She also serves as the chief lobbyist, charged with building and fostering relationships with policymakers and elected officials at the local, state and federal levels on behalf of LIBOR and its 28,000 members across Queens, Nassau and Suffolk counties.

Paventi Dilts has made a significant difference in the Government Affairs Department in her short tenure at LIBOR. She assisted in seeing meaningful legislation passed in both Nassau and Suffolk County Legislatures, which allows residents to remove any racial and religious restrictive covenants from the deeds of their homes. She also furthered REALTOR® efforts regarding more transparency and fairness in the buying and selling of cooperative housing for all, in which legislation was passed in late 2019.

Paventi Dilts aided in establishing LIBOR’s first comprehensive candidate vetting hub to help LIBOR members understand the importance in fair candidate vetting of REALTOR® Champions.

Through her guidance, she helped foster several community enrichment projects such as the Village of Northport’s Oyster FLUPSY program, installation of hand sanitizing stations in local parks, playgrounds and beaches throughout Queens and the Town of Huntington, the  reconstruction of the Seaford Memorial Gazebo in Washington Avenue Park, which was destroyed last summer during Tropical Storm Isaias, the creation of the Wyandanch Community Garden currently being built, and the launch of a bike repair station program for the Suffolk County Bike Trails.

In 2020, Paventi Dilts was honored by the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) with the REALTOR® association Certified Executive (RCE) designation, which recognizes exceptional efforts made by REALTOR® association executives. RCE is the only professional designation designed specifically for REALTOR® association executives.

Prior to her current position, Paventi Dilts served as the Deputy Program Director for Services for the UnderServed’s (SUS) Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) grant, and in the district office of former Congressman Steve Israel, assisting constituents from his congressional district navigate issues with the Social Security Administration and Medicare. She earned a Bachelor’s of Arts degree from the University at Buffalo and a Master’s degree in social work from Stony Brook University’s School of Social Welfare.

Paventi Dilts was previously honored by the Long Island Business News as one of Long Island’s Top 50 Women in Business in 2018. She was also honored by Schneps Media as a 2019 Star Under 40.

“Marlo Paventi Dilts has already made many outstanding contributions to our organization, community and industry.  Most recently, she has added mentor to her growing list of commitments.  She is sharing her knowledge, experience and perspective with others to help them grow in their professional roles and in their lives,” said LIBOR CEO Tessa Hultz. “She is a shining star in the 40 Under 40 of Long Island and LIBOR is proud to celebrate the acknowledgment of her exceptional achievements.”
