Michael Litzner, broker-owner of Coldwell Banker American Homes, received Long Island Board of REALTORS® (LIBOR) 2022 REALTOR® Broker of the Year Award during the Association’s annual Installation and Awards Event held on January 5, 2023, at Oheka Castle in Huntington, NY.

LIBOR’s REALTOR® Broker of the Year award is presented annually to a REALTOR® who exhibits great dedication to LIBOR’s members and mission and has contributed to the advancement of the professional image of REALTORS®.  The recipient is recognized as an industry leader whose service qualities are exemplary

Litzner, a lifelong resident of Long Island, began his real estate career in 1984. Several years later, he founded a real estate brokerage with his partner and dear friend Thomas Gallagher.

Today, Litzner is the broker-owner of Coldwell Banker American Homes, a 20 office brokerage with over 1,200 agents spanning from Suffolk to Brooklyn.

Over the years, Coldwell Banker American Homes has grown to be one of the region’s top real estate sales organizations, selling more than a billion dollars of homes each year.

Litzner has always been an adamant believer in the philosophy, “Work hard, play hard, and give back.” With this mindset, he has created a company culture that celebrates achievements and produces results while giving back to the community. Litzner attributes the family-like company culture to much of the company's success.

Litzner’s association involvement includes serving as a Zone Chairperson and member of the Multiple Listing Service of Long Island (MLSL) for 16 years. He also served on LIBOR’s Grievance and Professional Standards committees.

Litzner has been a long-standing member of his local Chamber of Commerce and Kiwanis Clubs and has served in numerous roles for each organization, including, executive positions, committee chairperson, and a member of both boards of directors.

In 2018, Litzner and Gallagher founded the foundation, Heart of American Homes, which raises funds through donations and local fundraisers to help provide for those in need in the communities that they serve.
