REALTORS® Journey to Albany for NYSAR’s Annual Lobby Day

May 07, 2019

On Tuesday, May 7, 2019 members of the Long Island Board of REALTORS® journeyed to Albany to advocate for several important legislative proposals that affect homeownership and real estate.  Among these issues are: increased transparency in the purchase of cooperative housing, improvements to real estate continuing education and assistance for first-time homebuyers.

REALTORS® also spoke out against misguided bills to increase real estate transaction taxes and impose more cease and desist zones.

This annual trip provides the opportunity for hundreds of REALTORS® from around New York State to visit their elected officials and present their positions on key issues which advocate and protect the American dream of homeownership.

Pictured on Lobby Day are (l-r) President Elect Matthew Arnold, Senator Phil Boyle, President Dianne Scalza, YPN President Beth Lowe and Michael Valdner discussing the First Time Home Buyers Savings Account Bill.
