Join the Long Island Board of REALTORS®, your source for quality education, as they host the Fair Housing Summit: Opening Doors to Equal Opportunity, on Monday, April 29th from 9:00am – 2:00pm at Chateau Briand in Carle Place. 

Every responsible REALTOR® has an obligation to know and understand federal and state fair housing laws which relate to real estate. These laws, their impact on the sale and rental of real estate and how to avoid practices which may be discriminatory, are covered in this concise and informative seminar.

The consumer in today’s real estate market represent a diverse population of buyers and sellers. Providing your customers and clients with fair and equal treatment to meet their needs is right and is the law. The Fair Housing Act makes illegal any discrimination in the sale, lease or rental of housing, or making housing otherwise unavailable, because of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status, or national origin. Knowing, understanding and adherence to fair housing laws, fair housing in marketing, listing and showing is your responsibly as a licensed real estate professional.
