LIBOR Annual General Membership Meeting
Scheduled for Tuesday, October 23, 2018

The Long Island Board of REALTORS®, Inc. (LIBOR) will hold their Annual General Membership Meeting on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at the Melville Marriott in Melville. The Melville Marriott will serve as the main meeting location and will host the Association update combined with LIBOR’s special featured program.  

Come out and vote for your LIBOR 2019 Leadership and stay for the special program – “Best Practices for Agents and Brokers to Avoid Discrimination Penalties in the RENTAL Marketplace,” with special emphasis on rentals, vouchers, subsidies and the REALTORS® responsibilities, led by the Suffolk County Executive Director and Nassau County Supervisor of Investigations and Compliance Unit for the Commission on Human Rights (this program is approved for 1.5 NYS CE Credits). This is your opportunity to speak directly with attorneys who prosecute these cases and can answer any and all of your questions on the topic of fair housing. The featured program will take place from 9:30am – 11:00am; the General Membership Meeting will take place from 11:15am – 12:15pm.  Voting for the election of Officers and Directors will also take place at the Melville Marriott.  REALTOR® members in good standing are eligible to vote. Voting polls open at 9:00am. (registration starts at 8:30am) and close promptly at 2:00pm.  Additional Voting locations are as follows: REALTOR® Service Centers in Jackson Heights, West Babylon, Woodbury and Riverhead. 

The LIBOR Nominating Committee, chaired by LIBOR’s immediate Past President David Legaz met on September 6, 2018, in West Babylon. At the meeting conclusion the following report was given with regard to the proposed slate for 2018 LIBOR leadership:  President-elect Matthew Arnold; Queens Vice President, Jessica Akde Elmazi (petitioner, Deow Gangaram); Nassau Vice President, Joe Sinnona; Suffolk Vice President, Kevin Loiacono; Treasurer, Susan Helsinger and Secretary, Frederic Greene. Dianne Scalza is the incoming LIBOR President, who will serve the Board in 2019. 

All LIBOR members are encouraged to attend the General Membership Meeting to be apprised of the current happenings at the Board, to vote for your incoming leadership and to attend the free CE Session and valuable seminar.
