LIBOR Awards 2017 REALTOR®-Broker of the Year to Thomas J. McCarthy


The Long Island Board of REALTORS®, Inc. (LIBOR) is pleased to announce that REALTOR® Thomas J McCarthy, broker/owner of Thomas J McCarthy Real Estate Inc. in Southold, has been named the recipient of the revered REALTOR®-Broker of the Year award. The announcement was made at the association’s Annual Installation and Awards Dinner held on November 21, 2017 at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury.

Thomas (Tom) McCarthy is a lifelong resident of the beautiful North Fork of Long Island. A graduate of both SUNY Farmingdale and New York Institute of Technology, Tom got his start in real estate during one summer break while in college.

After graduation, he pursued his interests in construction, development and brokerage. Starting his own firm in 1994, Tom has honed his skills and expanded his brokerage to include all areas of Long Island. Tom’s counsel continues to be sought after from intelligent buyers, sellers, attorneys, investors and other colleagues.

Professionally, Tom has served as President of the North Fork Chapter of the Long Island Board of REALTORS®, Vice President East End Liaison of the Board, and has been involved in numerous positions of leadership. His service also includes a directorship and other service positions at both the New York State Association of REALTORS® and the National Association of REALTORS® level. He has a keen eye to the future and desires to continue to grow within all of the organizations that he is associated with.

Tom credits his success to the outstanding support that he receives from his wife Susan and their children Colin, Jamie and Max.
