The Long Island Board of REALTORS®, Inc. (LIBOR) is pleased to announce that REALTOR® Melissa Gomez of Era Top Service Realty, Inc. of Queens Village, has been named the recipient of the distinguished REALTOR®-Salesperson of the Year award.  The announcement was made at the association’s Annual Installation and Awards Dinner held on November 22, 2016 at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury.

Melissa grew up in the real estate business, as the daughter of Nick and Terry Gomez, owners of Era Top Service Realty, Inc.  Against her father’s wishes she began working for her parents as receptionist when she was still in high school and only sixteen years old. She continued working while pursuing her major in finance at St. John’s University.  Finishing in only three years with her Bachelor of Science Degree in finance, she decided that real estate was her true passion.

Melissa has been a member of LIBOR since 2002, in that time she has served the board in various capacities; serving as a board Director for both LIBOR and the New York Association of REALTORS® (NYSAR).  On a Chapter level, Melissa has served as the Secretary and Vice President of the South Queens Chapter, formerly Jamaica Central Queens Chapter.  Melissa is one of the founding members of the Long Island Chapter of the Young Professional Network, where she served as President in 2013 and 2014.  Melissa has served on numerous committees as well, serving as the Queens Vice Chair for the RPAC Committee in 2011, Chairperson of the Education Committee in 2013 and Vice Chairperson of Professional Standards Committee.

Melissa is a firm believe that real estate is the way to build personal wealth.  To her, there is no better feeling than helping someone into their first, second or third home and alleviating the potential stress for her clients that are selling a home.  While most people believe that selling a house is just about finding the buyer for that perfect home, Melissa knows that handling the process from contract to closing is even more crucial.  She is known as solution-oriented individual who thinks outside of the box, in helping her clients achieve their goals. Melissa is as dedicated to her clients and customers as she is to her beautiful 7month old baby boy, Ryan Nicholas.
